Hotel logistics in Seattle
Seattle hotels typically do not charge resort fees. Parking is $40–65 a night downtown. Peak season is June through September with sharp rate drops from November through March. Link light rail from Sea-Tac to downtown is $3.50 and faster than a cab in traffic. Most downtown hotels are within walking distance of Pike Place Market and the waterfront — a car is rarely useful for a city-only trip.

The anchor property we track in Seattle
Curated referenceWe maintain a single anchor reference per city — a well-known property where we keep an up-to-date pre-stay fact sheet (check-in, WiFi, parking, amenities, walking distances). It's not an endorsement or a booking recommendation; it's a representative property for understanding Seattle hotel norms.
Fairmont Olympic Seattle
411 University Street, Seattle, WA
The Fairmont Olympic Seattle opened in 1924 as a private Italian Renaissance club building and has been the city's landmark grand hotel since. It is on the National Register of Historic Places. The lobby's vaulted ceilings, marble columns, and twin staircases are original. Rooms are larger than typical Seattle downtown stock. Pike Place Market is a six-block downhill walk; the Link light rail to Sea-Tac stops at University Street one block away.
